Another tragic car accident occurred on Saturday morning (August 2, 2025) on the Egnatia Highway, leaving one dead and one injured. Specifically, the violent collision happened just outside Grevena in the direction toward Ioannina.

The fatal accident occurred when a van-type vehicle carrying professional audio equipment veered off course just before the “Strata” area in Grevena and crashed into the protective guardrails, according to aetos-grevena.blogspot.com. From the violent impact, the 51-year-old driver lost his life, while the 21-year-old passenger was injured and transported by ambulance to Grevena General Hospital, where he is being treated.
The Fire Service and Traffic Police responded immediately to the accident scene, while an investigation by Grevena Traffic Police is underway to determine the exact causes of the accident.
