Relatives of the woman who set herself on fire in front of the Zappeion Aegli, on Wednesday morning, apparently called the Syntagma Police Station yesterday and informed them that the woman died.
It should be noted that the shocking incident took place on Wednesday morning in central Athens, in front of the Zappeion Aegli. Specifically, a 67-year-old woman set herself on fire at the aforementioned location shortly after 10 AM. According to reports, she was a homeless woman who allegedly was facing psychological problems.
Presidential Guard soldiers who were in the area immediately intervened, extinguishing her using fire extinguishers. The woman was transported to the hospital by EKAB ambulance, as she had burns on her face and body.
