The local community of Volos is shocked by the case of a 52-year-old mother, who allegedly photographed her minor daughter naked and distributed this material to third parties for payment, while according to the arrest warrant executed on Monday (28/7), she is also charged with incest.
Volos: 52-year-old woman charged with incest and child pornography with her daughter as victim faces prosecutor
The 52-year-old woman is expected to appear before the prosecutor today, Thursday (31/7) to give her testimony.
The official police announcement describes continuous acts using technological means to create and distribute the material. The charges facing the 52-year-old are all felony-level offenses, and as emphasized, these are particularly heinous crimes, as the victim had not even reached 12 years of age.
Specifically, the mother is charged with:
- Production, distribution, offering and possession of child pornography material involving a minor under 15 – and specifically under 12 – years old, via the internet.
- Sexual acts with a minor under 12 years old, repeated offenses.
- Incest: committing sexual acts between blood relatives, specifically from ascendant to descendant relatives, also continuously.
Such acts are punishable, according to the Penal Code (article 345), with imprisonment of at least 10 years, while if the minor is a descendant relative – as in the present case – the sentence rises to at least 15 years imprisonment. Criminal prosecution for the crime of incest is conducted automatically, without requiring a complaint from the victim, and the minor’s consent does not remove the punishable nature of the act.
Investigation continues into involvement of third parties
Meanwhile, authorities continue investigative and digital searches to determine whether third parties are involved in the case. Examination of digital material is ongoing, as investigators search for potential recipients of the material and evidence of participation in a network exploiting minors.
Developments are being closely monitored by both prosecuting authorities and social services, which have already taken custody of the minor girl.
