The findings uncovered by authorities at the apartment on Thasou Street in Kypseli, Athens, have left investigators deeply shaken. The condition in which the lifeless body of the infant was found defies all human comprehension — the baby boy was frozen and bore multiple stab wounds. The apartment had been occupied for less than a month by a 38-year-old German woman, her 43-year-old Greek partner, their 15-year-old daughter — who is pregnant — and their two sons, aged 12 and 9. On the night of the discovery, a 26-year-old Afghan man was also present at the property, claiming to be the partner of the underage daughter.
What was found in the couple’s luggage in Kypseli
According to Live News, during the police search, seven sexual devices were found in the couple’s luggage, along with a black mask, a camera, a laptop computer, and a USB storage drive. Inside the same suitcase, the deceased infant was discovered, wrapped in a red thermal bag and kept in a frozen state. On top of the bag were a garbage bag and a wrapping containing a red substance, most likely blood. Also found in the same suitcase were a digging tool, a small shovel, a blue blanket, and another sexual device.
Following the discovery of the dead infant, the 38-year-old woman immediately told authorities that the child was her own, claiming it had died eight months earlier and that she had been keeping it frozen. The forensic examiner immediately ordered DNA testing to determine whether the couple are indeed the biological parents of the baby. Meanwhile, LED cameras, laptops, small quantities of narcotics, and sexual devices were also found inside the apartment. According to sources, medical examinations carried out on all three minors living with the 43-year-old and 38-year-old revealed serious sexually transmitted diseases. The 38-year-old woman has already given a statement to authorities. Reports indicate that her account regarding the infant contains significant contradictions, as she reportedly confused the child’s date of birth and other critical details of the case.
Horror in Kypseli: What the forensic examination reveals
The findings of the forensic examination of the deceased infant have sent shockwaves through Greece, with preliminary assessments suggesting the baby was murdered with more than ten stab wounds. Police reporter Vasilis Lampropoulos spoke to Live News and presented details of the case.
As the journalist revealed: “The infant was murdered in a particularly brutal manner. This is a macabre and deeply disturbing case. The baby has at least fifteen, possibly more, stab wounds to the back. All the wounds are located exclusively on the back. Police and forensic examiners believe a kitchen knife was most likely used. The 43-year-old stated that all of this happened two years ago. Forensic examiners were unable to draw definitive conclusions because, immediately after the horrific murder, the child appears to have been placed — along with the blood — into a freezer and transported from home to home. A key question for investigators is determining exactly where the savage killing took place. Similar cases have been recorded in the past involving individuals who may have been using drugs, lacked a stable social profile, and faced serious personal problems. In some instances, people kill an infant aged 8 to 10 months because it was crying. For this reason, it is believed that this particular infant was murdered while sleeping, face down. There are no wounds at all on the front of the face or on the chest,” Vasilis Lampropoulos stated.
He added: “There was information that in the past they had been living on Fylis Street, though this has not yet been confirmed. Authorities are trying to trace their previous residences and establish exactly what happened. Regarding the details surrounding the child’s birth, police collected DNA samples, with a second key objective being to determine to whom the child belongs. There is a possibility the child belonged to the mother, the German woman. However, police are not ruling out the possibility that the child could be that of the 15-year-old daughter, born when she was just 13 years old. All of these scenarios are being examined. The primary objective is to achieve full clarification of the case. Where were they living? Who does the child belong to? Where was the birth registered? Why was the child murdered? No information has been provided regarding the motive behind the killing of the unfortunate child, who, according to forensic estimates, was between 8 and 9 months old.”
Eyewitness accounts from the house of horrors in Kypseli
A black bag found in the possession of the 43-year-old suspect contained three mobile phones, plastic packages with large quantities of narcotics, precision scales, and small plastic bags that, according to investigators, were used for dividing the substances. Based on the evidence in the case, the findings do not point to simple personal drug use, but rather to drug trafficking activity.
Residents of the apartment building on Thasou Street spoke to Live News about the conditions in which the three underage children were being raised, expressing anger and outrage. “There were three small children. Every night they would come out of the building. They were shouting in their own language — it sounded like Arabic. There was a 15-year-old girl and an Afghan man,” they said.
“They were very strange people. You could tell from their faces that they were using drugs. They looked like drug zombies. You could even see it on the face of a 15-year-old girl,” the residents added.
Although they had been in the building for less than a month, their presence had already made a strong impression, as neighbors had repeatedly complained about their behavior. “There was a great deal of filth in the building, constant noise, and the elevator was running all night. I had informed both the owner and the building manager because the state of cleanliness was unbearable. They were throwing out bottles and various objects that we then had to clean up,” one neighbor stated.
According to another witness: “What prompted us to take action was the drugs. I saw narcotics inside the apartment. That is why I called the police, and there was also conflict among them. They didn’t seem like a family. For those two reasons, I alerted the authorities.“

The owner of the apartment also spoke to Live News, explaining: “The building manager saved three children. To me, he is a hero, even though he is still very young — not even 30. If it weren’t for him, we might never have realized what was happening. He helped me get through many difficulties and problems,” he said.
“The property is managed by a company. I receive updates from the person in charge of the company. About 5 to 10 days ago, a warning had already been issued because they were leaving the place in a filthy state. That’s when we decided not to renew the rental agreement. They had been staying in the apartment for approximately one month. We knew there was a couple with two children in the apartment. When we discovered there was an additional child, the manager managed to delay them and called the police. One of the children didn’t seem to belong to them. He went out into the street and encountered the DIAS motorcycle police unit,” the owner added.
New revelation: The children had previously been placed in hospital care following a prosecutor’s order — parents took them back
A significant new development concerns the other three children in the family — the 15-year-old, the 12-year-old, and the 9-year-old boy. According to information available so far, all three children had previously been hospitalized, and following a prosecutor’s intervention, custody had been removed from the parents. However, the parents reportedly removed the children from the hospital and brought them back home. It remains unclear how this was possible despite the prosecutor’s order.
The president of POEDIN (the Panhellenic Federation of Public Hospital Employees), Michalis Giannakos, also addressed the issue, confirming that the children’s hospitalization had taken place a year earlier. “About a year ago, the three children were taken — under a prosecutor’s order — to be housed at Agia Sofia Children’s Hospital. The police brought them there due to abuse and neglect within their family environment. One evening, the man believed to be their father came and took all three children. The hospital, as it was obligated to do, immediately notified the police. However, neither the police nor the prosecutor’s office ever returned the children to us,” he stated.

Forensic examiner Dimitris Galenteris spoke to Live News about the forensic report concerning the infant found dead: “Forensic science is being called upon to answer several questions. The first and most important concerns, of course, the cause of death. As it emerges — given that there are wounds from a sharp, pointed instrument that have struck vital organs — the cause of death is homicide by a sharp, pointed instrument. The final issue concerns determining the time of death. The fact that the body was placed in a freezer significantly complicates the determination of the time of death. The freezing has fully preserved the wounds, meaning we have a fairly clear picture of both the cause and the mechanism of death. I would like to make a comment regarding the sexually transmitted diseases that appear to have been detected in the other children as well. According to studies, in children under the age of fourteen who test positive for sexually transmitted diseases, the likelihood of sexual abuse is particularly high — meaning that in nine out of ten such children, sexual abuse is effectively confirmed,” he stated.
