One person was killed and two others were injured in a traffic accident that occurred in the early hours of Monday (24/8) in Imathia, specifically at the 3rd kilometer of the old national road connecting Alexandria and Katerini.
According to police, two vehicles collided head-on under circumstances that are still under investigation. The first vehicle was occupied by a 69-year-old driver and his 65-year-old wife, while the second vehicle carried a 65-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl.
The 65-year-old driver of the second vehicle sustained fatal injuries as a result of the violent collision. Also injured was the 65-year-old woman, who was transferred and is currently receiving treatment at AHEPA Hospital, as well as the 15-year-old girl, who was taken to the General Hospital of Veria. The Alexandria Police Department is conducting a preliminary investigation into the exact circumstances and causes of the accident.
