Alarm was raised on Sifnos island shortly after 6 p.m. on Monday (17/08) following the crash of a helicopter near the center of the island. According to initial reports, the aircraft was a private helicopter carrying four passengers on board. The crash triggered a fire in the Tholos area. The Fire Service Operations Center was notified of the incident at approximately 18:17. Two firefighters with one vehicle are currently operating at the scene, while a rescue team from Syros is en route aboard a RAFNAR speedboat belonging to the Fire Service.
