Two people lost their lives in a serious road accident that occurred on Friday morning on the Drama–Amphipolis National Highway, near Palaiokomi, Serres.

The accident occurred at approximately 07:30, when, according to initial reports, a truck collided with a passenger vehicle under circumstances that are currently being investigated by the relevant authorities.
Both occupants of the passenger car were pulled from the wreckage dead. The truck driver was injured and transported to the General Hospital of Drama to receive medical treatment.
The exact cause of the accident is under investigation by the competent authorities.
