The two Indian nationals, aged 20 and 24, who are accused of the murder of the 58-year-old psychologist in Nafplio, appeared before an examining magistrate today. The two defendants entered their pleas after being granted a postponement to prepare their defense. The attorney representing the 20-year-old, Panagiotis Beskas, had previously requested additional time to review the case file and prepare his client’s defense statement.

According to local news outlet argolikeseidhseis.gr, tensions ran high outside the courthouse as relatives and friends of the victim confronted the two defendants, shouting “murderers” as they were escorted inside.
How the Nafplio psychologist was murdered — a full timeline of the case
The case began to unfold on July 25, when a relative of the 58-year-old reported him missing to the Nafplio Criminal Investigation Department. A large-scale search operation was launched and continued for nine days, involving the Greek Police, the Fire Service, the Special Disaster Response Unit (EMAK), the Coast Guard, the Greek Rescue Team of Argolida, and numerous volunteers.
The search came to a tragic end on August 2, when the victim’s body was discovered in a rural area of Kantia, in the Argolida region.
According to Greek Police, on the night of July 24, the two suspects got into the psychologist’s car and, in an area within the municipality of Nafplio, allegedly immobilized him and fatally stabbed him. They then took his cash and mobile phone before fleeing in his vehicle, which they abandoned shortly afterward on a hill near their place of residence.
The two men were arrested on August 2 in Attica, following a coordinated police operation conducted with the assistance of the Organized Crime Division and the Forensic Investigations Directorate.
They have been formally charged with homicide, armed robbery, and violations of weapons legislation.
