The massive wildfire in Megara has reached a critically dangerous point, with the fire front remaining completely out of control as firefighting forces battle the blaze across multiple locations.

“Things are extremely difficult. There are 15 scattered fire fronts burning out of control. We are requesting additional aerial firefighting assets. If the fire crosses to the other side of the road toward Geraneia, the entire municipality will burn,” he stated emphatically.
Meanwhile, authorities have been sending emergency alerts via the 112 system, urging residents in threatened areas to evacuate immediately and follow all instructions issued by Civil Protection.
Firefighting forces continue to operate under extremely challenging conditions, working to contain the spread of the blaze and prevent it from advancing toward Geraneia — a development that, according to the mayor, would have catastrophic consequences for the entire Municipality of Megara.
