Scenes straight out of a movie unfolded on Sunday night at a pastry shop in Nikaia, when a would-be robber attempted to steal money from the cash register — only to find himself facing a fearless employee who refused to back down. According to information from ERT, shortly after 10:00 PM, a man approximately 50 years old, wearing a blue cap and a black surgical mask, entered the store and approached the register, demanding that the employee hand over the day’s earnings. The suspect then pulled a pistol from his bag and threatened the worker.

The woman tried to protect herself and attempted to hide behind the shop’s display cases. The robber aimed at her and pulled the trigger — however, the weapon turned out to be fake and fired only blanks.
The moment the employee realized she was not in immediate danger, she grabbed a mop and began chasing the suspect around the store. She pushed him back with the handle, while he managed to snatch whatever cash he could before fleeing the scene.
