The Crown Iris cruise ship departed without passengers disembarking at the port of Syros, which according to reports was carrying tourists from Israel. According to information from cyclades24 website, there was intervention from Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as direct communication between Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis and his Israeli counterpart Gideon Saar, in order to resolve the situation that developed at Syros port.

Specifically, the Israeli Foreign Ministry intervened following protests by tourists who could not disembark, resulting in immediate reaction from the Greek side as well.
Syros: About 300 people gathered at Ermoupoli port
It is noted that about 300 people gathered on Tuesday morning at Ermoupoli port in Syros, protesting against the presence of the cruise ship.
The protest was attended by citizens, union members and local organizations, who held Palestinian flags and displayed banners reading “Stop the genocide,” expressing their opposition to the events unfolding in the Middle East.
The mobilization concluded with a march along the coastal avenue, heading towards Kanari Square.
