Four Bulgarian nationals faced serious danger to their safety when they became trapped at sea while stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) off the coast of Lefkada, unable to escape the area on their own. Strong winds swept them off course, carrying them into waters between the beaches of Agios Nikitas and Kathisma. The Lefkada Coast Guard was immediately notified, prompting the swift organization of a rescue operation carried out with the assistance of the passenger tourist vessel “Agios Nikitas.” The vessel recovered all four individuals and transported them safely to shore. The rescued tourists were brought to the port of Agios Nikitas, with no health issues reported.
