A serious issue has emerged regarding the custody of the twin children, aged 10, of the unfortunate professor who was found murdered in Agia Paraskevi. The children remain in the hospital, as required by law, without an official new guardian being appointed yet.

Under current legal framework, custody remains with the mother, who, however, is being held in detention as a suspect in the murder of her ex-husband.
Legal obstacles and delays
According to a report by Polish website Fakt, the brother of the victim – who lives abroad – wishes to assume custody and transfer the children to Poland. However, the procedures are complex, as they await first the court decision that may remove custody from the mother. Additionally, the issue of the children’s citizenship remains pending, which complicates their relocation abroad.
The brother himself stated that he is awaiting the Greek court’s decision in order to begin the required legal procedures. “The law in Greece is different from Poland. We will proceed once we have the green light,” he noted.
The victim’s family lawyer, Michalis Dimitrakopoulos, mentioned that intervention from the Prosecutor for Minors is expected and a request will be submitted so that the children pass into the custody of the murdered man’s family. At the same time, as he emphasized, “there will be a legal battle to deliver justice,” as the mother faces charges of moral complicity in the murder.
