Scenes of a movie-style police chase unfolded through the streets of Athens when police forces spotted a vehicle moving suspiciously in the Menidi area. The pursuit began in Menidi and ended in Patisia, at the intersection of Liosion and Tertipis streets, where an officer was forced to open fire at the vehicle to immobilize it.
According to police, the car driver attempted to escape by performing dangerous maneuvers, and at one point reversed with the intention to ram into the police officers. Eventually, the perpetrator was arrested on the spot. Following inspection, it was determined that the vehicle was stolen and had been reported as theft from the Paleo Faliro area.
