A major fire broke out on Saturday afternoon (19/7) at a livestock facility in Kato Apostoloi, Kilkis, prompting a massive mobilization of the Fire Service and local authorities.
The fire erupted in an agricultural-livestock area and rapidly escalated due to the nature of the facilities and flammable materials present.
A total of 22 firefighters with 10 vehicles are operating at the scene, while aerial support includes 2 firefighting aircraft and 1 helicopter, working to contain the spread of the blaze.
At 20:20, an emergency alert was sent via the 112 system to local residents, warning them about dangerous smoke and advising them to remain indoors with windows and doors closed until further notice.
