Intense concern and turmoil prevails in the local community of Igoumenitsa following a new incident of assault against a minor girl. It should be noted that the alleged perpetrator is the same man who had been arrested for an incident that occurred on June 4, when, according to police information, he was charged with sexual assault against a minor, as well as with threatening her father with a knife.

Igoumenitsa: New attack on minor girl
According to thespro.gr, the new arrest, just two days after the previous incident, raises legitimate questions about how and why the alleged perpetrator was found free again, despite the seriousness of the allegations and his possession of a knife.
Timeline of the attack
The new incident unfolded near the main square of Igoumenitsa. The accused approached the minor, who however reacted calmly and immediately, starting to call for help. The girl’s screams forced the man to flee in order to escape.
Residents who immediately realized what was happening notified the police. The officers from Igoumenitsa Security responded instantly, combed the area and managed to locate and arrest the man at a short distance from the scene of the attack. Moreover, during the search conducted on him, it was found that he was once again in possession of a knife.
