The local community of Syros remains shocked following the detention of a singer accused of child grooming. According to syrostoday.gr, the well-known singer with initials A.M. was ordered into pretrial detention after his testimony, facing serious charges involving a 14-year-old girl, in a case that has shaken the “princess of the Cyclades.”
Syros: Singer detained for child grooming charges
The case came to light when the minor’s parents reportedly discovered a series of text messages she had exchanged with the singer in 2025 on her mobile phone. The parents reportedly contacted authorities after reviewing the content of conversations between the 44-year-old singer and the 14-year-old, and filed an official complaint, according to STAR.
An investigation by authorities followed and a case file was formed, which was forwarded to the Syros First Instance Prosecutor’s Office. The prosecutor and investigator unanimously decided on the singer’s temporary detention until the case trial.
The accused denies the charges
The accused denies the charges against him. His defense characterized the allegations as “unfounded,” arguing that there is no evidence to substantiate the charges against him. Friends of the singer spoke of a “misunderstanding,” while back in March the singer had already positioned himself through social media, characterizing the claims against him as “slanderous.”
Shortly before his transfer to a correctional facility, the singer reportedly felt unwell and was taken to Syros General Hospital for precautionary examinations, under strict security measures, before heading to his cell at Grevena prison.
