New information continues to emerge regarding the circumstances that preceded the murder of the 43-year-old Polish professor in Agia Paraskevi on July 4th. According to police sources, the unfortunate man had been targeted much earlier by the 35-year-old who would later become his killer, as at an unsuspecting time he had fallen victim to assault and had received threats from his 43-year-old ex-wife’s partner. According to related information, in mid-May 2024, the 43-year-old professor had approached the authorities, filing a lawsuit against his former wife’s partner. This was because under circumstances that remain unclear, the 35-year-old had threatened the professor during a meeting between them, possibly regarding matters concerning the professor and his ex-wife, and had not hesitated to physically assault him.
The 43-year-old Polish man with an American passport had approached the Syntagma Police Station to file the lawsuit. However, it appears that the 35-year-old was not located by the authorities.
Agia Paraskevi murder: Revelations about the former couple’s turbulent relationship
All of the above aligns directly with what relatives of the murdered man had reported to Polish and American media. The relatives had mentioned that the 43-year-old was living in fear, without clarifying the reasons. They had emphasized that the legal disputes between the former couple did not only concern child custody.
“There are many legal cases that have not been completed and several that our beloved has already won. Even on the day he was murdered. The professor had divorced his wife, however the division of their joint property has not been completed. There is also the dispute over child custody,” a specific report emphasized, adding while citing a source from the 43-year-old’s circle: “Some Greek media published defamatory stories about the professor, presenting him as unstable. All this while numerous friends, colleagues, and legal documents indicated that he was a devoted father and an honest professional. We demand justice and protection for his children, who reside in Greece.”
It should be noted that just two months before the murder and a full year after the incident between the two men, the 43-year-old ex-wife of the deceased had indirectly praised her relationship with the 35-year-old in a social media post, “highlighting” her ex-husband’s alleged inability to stand by their children. “When you realize you chose the best dad for your children,” was the telling comment from the 43-year-old woman.
