The 16-year-old girl, who allegedly fell victim to abuse by her partner, stands by the 35-year-old accused, while her father expresses outrage and fears for his child’s future. The accused is a well-known businessman in the area, and police raided the house where he lived with the minor after her mother called authorities, reporting that the man was holding her child hostage, while neighbors claimed they heard screams coming from the apartment.
The 35-year-old is charged with domestic violence for allegedly keeping the 16-year-old inside the house and not allowing her to leave. However, according to STAR, the minor appears to be supporting him, stating that she will stand by him in this legal battle.
The 16-year-old’s father, in statements given to the Star show, said: “They were together. I don’t know if this man, may God make him human, had been drinking something and beat up my child. Now, they were in some space, in some apartment, something like that and he beat up my child. The child wanted to leave, my child was screaming ‘help’, the police came in, broke down the door and arrested him.”
Father of 16-year-old victim: “The child is psychologically devastated”
Regarding who made the complaint to police that led to the 35-year-old’s arrest, the 16-year-old’s father said: “The child herself was screaming and neighbors notified the police. It’s close to the Police Headquarters. Imagine a distance not even a kilometer away. The child is psychologically devastated. You know, kids today say whatever they want. On one hand ‘we are children and we don’t know and don’t understand’ and on the other hand ‘we know everything’.”
Additionally, the minor’s father expressed concern that the 35-year-old might claim psychological problems to receive more favorable treatment.
“And this father didn’t just come out of the house yesterday. He has five pieces of knowledge in his life, he has two experiences. But my issue is something else. Not the now or yesterday, it’s tomorrow and the day after. That is, because our eyes have seen a lot, not to go to the prosecutor and get him out with psychological issues, get a postponement, defend himself and run around and give him and show him and drag this story for 2, 3, 5 years,” said the 16-year-old’s father.
