The Final Four of this year’s Euroleague has drawn all eyes to our country, specifically to the capital. The arrival of thousands of fans from Spain and Turkey is natural and expected, given the presence of Real Madrid, Valencia, and Fenerbahce at this major event.
Security measures are strict and clearly everything is determined by the level of coordination and communication between the authorities and the mass of fans. While things are easy with the Spanish fans, there’s a small issue with the Turkish supporters.
Final Four: Police officer in tour guide role
This communication issue has been taken on by the commander of one of Athens’ most challenging police stations – the commander of the Agios Panteleimonas Police Station.
The police officer was found earlier today at Thiseio where Fenerbahce fans are gathering, in order to guide them on how to get to OAKA arena. As you can see, the police officer is fluent in Turkish and uses a megaphone to try to give directions to the fans of Sarunas Jasikevicius’ team.
