Commotion was caused on Thursday morning at the airport “Diagoras” in Rhodes, when an aircraft operated by Eurowings, performing a charter flight from abroad with approximately 150 passengers, experienced a malfunction during taxiing. Specifically, the airplane’s tire burst shortly after landing, resulting in airport authorities sounding the alarm.

Immediately, the pilot who had an indication in the cockpit about the problem that occurred with the aircraft in Rhodes, immobilized the aircraft on the runway and informed the Control Tower, where the established procedure for passenger, crew, and aircraft safety was initiated.
Fortunately, everything proceeded without incident and the aircraft will be moved empty of passengers to an area of Rhodes airport for repairs.
