In an atmosphere of grief, family and local residents bid farewell to the 21-year-old in Crete, following his murder in Ammoudara, Heraklion. According to neakriti.gr, just before the start of the funeral anger erupted when family members of the 21-year-old reacted to the presence of police at the scene. “They came now that he’s been killed,” they shouted.

With intense emotional charge, they demanded the police leave, expressing their indignation over how they believe the case was handled. Timeline of the tragedy
Nikitas Gemistos was killed by gunfire from 54-year-old Kostas Parasyris, father of his 17-year-old friend who had lost his life in November 2023 at Venizeleio Hospital in Heraklion, weeks after the car accident he was involved in with the 21-year-old on Heraklion’s coastal avenue.
The fatal shooting occurred on Andreas Papandreou Street in Ammoudara. According to current evidence, the 54-year-old reportedly collided with the victim’s red car. The 21-year-old, according to the same information, tried to escape by running, but the accused reportedly pulled out a weapon and shot him.
54-year-old Kostas Parasyris was taken Tuesday evening to the Heraklion Police Headquarters and will testify for his actions next Monday. It’s noted that authorities also arrested his wife who reportedly was inside the accused’s car.
The 54-year-old faces criminal prosecution for premeditated murder in a calm mental state, as well as joint distinguished case of firearm possession by conspiracy, illegal ammunition possession, illegal weapon use and weapon possession. His wife is charged with conspiracy and complicity in the murder, with judicial authorities examining her role during the fatal attack.
