The 20-year-old accused of murdering a 27-year-old man in Agios Dimitrios requested and received a postponement to testify on Tuesday (28/4) at the Naval Court. He faces charges of premeditated murder, illegal weapon possession, and weapon use, while three other individuals are included in the case file, with the murder motive being romantic jealousy. The confessed perpetrator and victim met at Asyrmatos in Agios Dimitrios on Wednesday evening to resolve their differences. The victim could not handle the fact that his ex-girlfriend was now in a relationship with the 20-year-old. After the 20-year-old arrived at the “meeting” with his 18-year-old friend, tension quickly erupted. According to sources, threats began before the perpetrator pulled out his knife and stabbed it into the 27-year-old’s heart. The young man died within a short time.

As Vasilis Lambropoulos describes on MEGA, police began ruling out scenarios for the murder motive as soon as they found the 27-year-old’s body. After finding no involvement with illegal networks, they quickly turned to his social circles, revealing the feud he had with the 20-year-old over his 20-year-old ex-girlfriend.
According to the same sources, the victim could not handle their breakup and had been pressuring the 20-year-old woman in recent days. Eventually, the 27-year-old called the 20-year-old for a meeting. There are reports suggesting the 20-year-old woman pressured her boyfriend not to go to the meeting. The two young men eventually met and began arguing until the 20-year-old pulled out the knife and fatally wounded the 27-year-old.
At that moment, his girlfriend apparently sent him a message by chance, to which he responded deceptively.
The perpetrator and his friend then met with their girlfriends and tried to cover their tracks. According to the lawyer representing the two girls, they went to police headquarters alone the next day, revealing the perpetrator’s name to authorities.

The grandfather and grandmother of the accused, speaking to Star, said they cannot believe their grandson became a murderer. «That they fought and stabbed each other over a woman and the other guy got stabbed in the heart. We’re all devastated. I’m going crazy, it’s driving me insane too, what can I do?», said the grandfather, while the grandmother added: «We don’t know anything yet. What can I say…».
Charges against those arrested in the Agios Dimitrios murder case
On Thursday evening, all four were arrested on prosecutor’s orders: the 20-year-old, his 18-year-old friend, and the two girls who were with them after the incident.
The main defendant faces murder charges, while the other three face charges for harboring a criminal.
The 20-year-old is serving his military service as a sailor, and for this reason, all involved parties are expected to appear before a military prosecutor, who will examine the case and proceed with separating the case file regarding the uniformed defendant.
Meanwhile, it became known that the 20-year-old had previously attracted authorities’ attention, as he had been found carrying a knife during a random check.
