How dangerous is the black widow spider
The black widow (scientific name: Latrodectus mactans) is a species of venomous spider, known for its extremely potent venom and distinctive black color with the characteristic red hourglass marking on its abdomen.
The spider is called the “black widow” because female spiders of this species kill the males after mating. Although the black widow is dangerous, it is not fatal to healthy adults. Its venom affects the nervous system and can cause severe pain, muscle cramps, nausea, and sweating.
