Three people lost their lives from drowning within a single day, on Sunday (13/7), in coastal areas of Thessaloniki, Tilos and Halkidiki.

According to the Coast Guard, on Sunday afternoon, the Thessaloniki Port Authority was informed about the discovery of a woman’s body in the sea area of pier A of the port. The victim was a woman aged approximately 50-55 years, with other details unknown. The Central Port Authority of Thessaloniki has taken over the preliminary investigation.
Also on Sunday afternoon, an 82-year-old Greek man was pulled unconscious from “Plaka” beach in Tilos. The 82-year-old was transported by ambulance to the Livadia Medical Center in Tilos, where his death was confirmed.
A few hours later, an 88-year-old Greek man was pulled unconscious from “Mikyverna” beach in the municipality of Polygyros. A preliminary investigation is being conducted to determine the causes of death.
