The school complex housing the 5th Middle School and 5th High School of Glyfada resembled a bombed landscape after an invasion by unknown perpetrators, who stole thousands of euros and computers while causing extensive damage.
School vandalism in Glyfada: “Never seen anything like this”
Describing the scene she encountered at the school on ERT News Radio 105.8, Anny Kavka, Deputy Mayor of Education for the Municipality of Glyfada, said: “When they notified us yesterday at half past eleven to twelve o’clock and I went there, the moment the door opened I was shocked. I’ve never seen anything like this (…). And I must tell you there’s no floor left, three floors of the school, because there are two schools there, everything is covered (…). The rage with which they hit with fire extinguishers to break down doors is unbelievable.” “But pay attention: after they did everything they did to the school, they went up to the roof, brought chairs up and gazed at the sea,” she added. Regarding whether she can determine the ages of the people who caused all this damage to the school, she said they are “young people.”
