The countdown has begun for the testimony of Irini Mourtzoukou, who will appear before the investigating judge in Patras on Sunday regarding the high-profile case of the dead infants in Amaliada. The defendant will cross the threshold of the Patras investigating judge’s office at 11 AM. Her transfer will be conducted under very strict security measures, as angry citizens had gathered last Wednesday after her confession. According to information, she will submit a written testimony and will not retract her initial confession. In fact, all these days she has been providing handwritten notes to her lawyer, describing incidents not only for the three children included in the indictment, but also for her little sister whom she confessed to murdering in 2014 in Argos.

Information suggests that Irini Mourtzoukou, who has confessed to the murders of four children – 2 of her own, one belonging to her friend Katerina, and her little sister – plans to implicate other people in the high-profile case. Characteristic was the phrase mentioned yesterday by her lawyer Mr. Nikos Alexandris when speaking to ERT. As Mr. Alexandris said: “My client will tell everything in her testimony, regardless of the consequences, wanting to be redeemed and take on the part of responsibility that belongs to them,” emphasizing that “the entire portion of responsibility does not belong to her.”
“She is not the only one responsible for this entire tragic event of losing five children,” he noted characteristically. At the same time, the defense attorney referred to the case file, saying it is “not complete” as “the forensic medical reports are not included.”
She has not yet spoken about the death of little Panagiotis, her friend’s child with whom she was cohabiting, however with each passing hour, new evidence is being revealed about this death as well. According to MEGA information, just 24 hours before the little boy passed away, Irini Mourtzoukou had asked to have him with her in the room, while during that period, the relationship between the two women was going through a crisis.
“Do you want to kick me out of the house? I will hurt you in the worst way,” Mourtzoukou allegedly said to Panagiotis’s mother.
Whether or not she harmed the boy is expected to be “clarified” within the coming week when the results from the forensic medical examiners are expected regarding Panagiotakis’s death.
Irini Mourtzoukou: New allegations of attempted infant murders
At the same time, according to MEGA, after the publicization of this horrific case, there have been other allegations of attempted infant murders. And not only in Greece… All this, just hours before Irini Mourtzoukou appears before the investigating judge in Patras to submit her written testimony for the horrific crimes with small children as victims.
Katerina’s shocking statement: “I wish the death penalty existed for her”
After the latest developments and Irini Mourtzoukou’s confessional admission that she murdered her friend Katerina’s child, “Light in the Tunnel” contacted her again.
The woman stated that from the beginning she was shouting that E. Mourtzoukou was the murderer, but no one listened to her.
“She killed my child, just like the other four. From the first moment I heard on your show about Panagiotakis’s death, I was certain. The only thing I’m waiting for now is justice for all the children and a conviction for Mrs. Mourtzoukou.”
As she says:
“One day she ‘snapped’ and said ‘what should I do? Let me commit four-five infanticides to pass my time.’ Did she think she was dealing with dolls? We entrusted our children to her and she went and killed them. She caused the same death to all five children, except she made my child’s more torturous. She would close and open his nose, wouldn’t let him breathe. There is no presumption of innocence in her case, nor do I accept imprisonment as punishment. I wish the electric chair existed for her, the death penalty,” she concludes, causing chills.
“For my Panagiotis, whether she wants to or not, she will confess”
On the show “Light in the Tunnel” also spoke Popi, little Panagiotis’s mother.
“Once I see her in front of me, they won’t be able to take her away from my hands. What I hear about her mother is ‘theater.’ Something else is happening. She was thinking something and at that moment she did it. Maybe it was a sacrifice. I wasn’t inside her mind. To fight with my mother and go kill her child? It doesn’t add up,” explodes Popi, Panagiotakis’s mother, about whom the 25-year-old does not admit – so far – that she harmed him.
And she continued: “The only thing I say is why would I be away for those eight minutes? I understood that the girl was not well psychologically after Panagiotis’s death. She showed me her good face one moment and her bad face the next. During that period she was threatening, hitting and telling me she had ‘a whole army behind her.’ I was never afraid for myself. I have one child left and that’s why I didn’t speak for so long.”
Irini Mourtzoukou’s mother: “I believe she harmed Panagiotakis too”
Irini Mourtzoukou’s mother, in statements to ANT1’s camera, revealed that her daughter had deviant behavior from a very young age and never listened to anyone.
About the deviant behavior from a young age, spoke Irini Mourtzoukou’s mother, Popi Anagnostopoulou, while simultaneously emphasizing that she cannot imagine what her 25-year-old daughter’s children experienced.
Detailed statements from Popi Anagnostopoulou:
“She never listened to anyone. She had deviant behavior from a very young age. From the moment I learned about her own children and what they went through, especially about the second one whom I saved the first time, I have lost the ground beneath my feet,” Popi Anagnostopoulou initially mentioned.
“I don’t think lack of love makes you raise your hand to kill innocent creatures. Every time she called me and told me the baby was gone, my first question was whether she harmed the children and she always told me no. When papers came out saying ‘pathological’ I didn’t know that interstitial pneumonia wasn’t a cause of death, I didn’t know that all the babies were perfectly healthy and none had anything wrong.”
Regarding little Panagiotis’s death she stated: “I believe she harmed him, the most likely thing I think is jealousy in various situations. We have heard about infant trafficking… Irini begged me to come out and say a good word for her and I told her I couldn’t.”
