Particularly impressive moments were experienced by those who found themselves on March 25 in downtown Athens for the grand military parade, with fighter jets, helicopters, transport aircraft and firefighting planes creating a spectacular display as they crossed the capital’s sky. Indeed, some of the fighter jets flew at relatively low altitude, sending chills through those who gathered at Syntagma Square and surrounding streets.

Some of the flyovers were synchronized with the parade of cadets from the Hellenic Military Academy and other military corps. This year’s military parade featured flights by Rafale fighters, Mirage 2000-5 jets, Apache helicopters, C-130 transport aircraft and Canadair firefighting planes.
Meanwhile, photographers captured unique shots of the aircraft flying over the Attica sky with the Acropolis as a backdrop.
