New development in the case of the fatal knife attack on a 20-year-old in Kalamaria, Thessaloniki, as criminal charges for intentional homicide have been filed against the 23-year-old accused of the murder. Earlier, the defendant was brought before the prosecutor to answer for the acts attributed to him. By decision, the 23-year-old is prosecuted for intentional homicide.
The 23-year-old appeared in the previous 24 hours, accompanied by a lawyer, at the Thessaloniki Police Headquarters, making himself available to the prosecuting authorities. A case file for intentional homicide was formed against him.
Murder in Kalamaria: The defendant’s claims
The defendant himself allegedly claimed that he suffered an unprovoked attack by at least three unknown individuals, at a short distance from his home where he was heading at the time. Two more individuals, as he testified, were located a little further from the spot and were watching the attack against him.
According to what he allegedly testified, he received blows to his head, face and body, some of which were with a hammer. He pointed out to the police officers the alleged injuries he sustained and requested for this reason the conduct of a forensic examination, which is expected to be carried out today to be included in the case file.

Earlier, the first findings of the 23-year-old’s forensic examination were made public.
The alleged perpetrator of the bloody attack bears injuries to the face area, blunt trauma to the head region and multiple abrasions on the lower extremities and in the gluteal area.
