Horror and countless questions arise from new evidence coming to light regarding the shocking case of Irini Mourtzoukou. The mother of the 25-year-old spoke to Live News on Mega and emphasized that she does not accept her daughter’s claim that every time they had arguments she would kill another child.
“We hadn’t fought during the specific times Irini mentions, when the children ‘passed away.’ It’s all lies again. I understood she was doing something wrong. But I didn’t know if she was definitely doing it with her own hands or however she was doing it. And I didn’t want to believe, at least regarding her own children, that she would do something like that,” added Mourtzoukou’s mother. When asked why she didn’t go to the police when the child died in 2014, after she suspected her daughter at that time, she answered that she was discouraged from doing so.
“They called us crazy”
“Some relatives mentioned it, they called us crazy and then came the forensic examination, which silenced us. Just when I was saying that Irini might have done something or harmed the child, a forensic report came that was completely wrong apparently, and I thought I was talking nonsense about my own child and stayed quiet,” the 25-year-old’s mother told Mega. “No one listened to us when we voiced our suspicions,” she added.
Referring to the incident where Irini Mourtzoukou’s mother saw the 25-year-old holding her second child under the faucet, she said: “Approaching the child, I see it slightly darkened and unresponsive. I quickly took the child from her hands, performed chest compressions and then the child began responding to me.” “The child probably has the evil eye and that’s why it’s not well,” Mourtzoukou told her mother, according to what the latter said on Live News.
“Who gives her the right?”
“When I left the house, I wasn’t going out for walks and boyfriends, I was going to work to bring home the daily wage. There was another adult in the house, I wasn’t leaving children alone. And on the other hand, who gives Irini or any Irini the right to fight with parents? Who gives her the right to take lives?” she added.
“I don’t stop loving my child,” the 25-year-old’s mother admitted and added that the whole situation pains her. As she said, she hasn’t communicated with Irini Mourtzoukou. “I want them to tell me the reason she did all this and why. I deserve to know why. They’ll put her in prison and then what?” she wondered.
