What is certain is that the perpetrators knew the target area very well, because, as competent police officials say, the spot where they threw the explosive device is a small uncovered area of the yard, full of plants, with no cameras present.
For this reason, the device was found by the gardener yesterday afternoon, who notified the journalist’s security detail.
It should be noted that the explosive device consisted of five dynamite sticks, a detonator and a slow-burning fuse. As determined, there was combustion, meaning the perpetrator or perpetrators lit the fuse and threw the device into the uncovered area, but no explosion occurred.
Regarding why the explosive device did not detonate, explosives experts hypothesize the following: Either the fuse was extinguished by moisture or water present in the garden, or it became detached from the explosive material when it hit the ground, or the material was old.
In any case, these details will be clarified by laboratory research, which has not yet been completed at the Criminal Investigation Department.
Regarding the identity of the organization or group from which the perpetrators may originate, police have no specific indication, but are investigating in all directions, while seriously examining various texts published recently on anti-establishment websites that target Giannis Pretenderis and other individuals.
Meanwhile, they are collecting material from cameras in the wider area where the house is located, both during the last night before the device was found and in recent days, hoping to identify movements that may be related to the case.
