A 46-year-old man was remanded in custody after his testimony, accused of shooting at four minors following his appearance at the Aigio court. The city was on high alert, as a heavy police presence surrounded the courthouse perimeter amid fears of incidents. To transport him to the judicial building, authorities opted for an early morning transfer at 4 AM. The middle-aged defendant testified, maintaining his previous claim: “The voices were bothering me, they were loud. I have a small child and we couldn’t sleep. I took the rifle and fired to scare them. I didn’t want to hurt them.” The 46-year-old is charged with attempted premeditated murder in a calm mental state. Four minors were injured in the incident on Friday evening, February 20, on Filopoimen Street. They were on the steps when they were shot with pellets. Three children were transported to Aigio Hospital, while a 15-year-old was transferred to Karamandaneio Hospital for surgical intervention.
