On the occasion of assuming his duties, the new prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Konstantinos Tzavellas, sent a letter-document to all prosecutors of all levels throughout the country, in which he emphasizes, among other things, that “this position, which the State entrusted to me and for which my colleagues selected me, is not only an office, but, above all, a mission.”
Specifically, the full text of Mr. Tzavellas’ letter is as follows:
“My assumption of the duties of the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court is, by nature, accompanied by the awareness of the weighty obligations that this entails.
This position, which the State entrusted to me and for which my colleagues selected me, is not only an office, but, above all, a mission. A mission of daily pursuit of justice and the common good, with consistency and integrity, which are also my own goals.
To achieve these goals, I will make every possible effort with the help of my worthy and capable colleagues, as well as the support of the judicial staff, who serve throughout the country.”
