The exodus of holidaymakers for the Clean Monday long weekend is gradually reaching its peak, with intercity bus route occupancy rates touching 100%, especially for today (20/02) and tomorrow (Saturday, 21/02). According to the president of the Panhellenic Federation of KTEL (P.O.A.Y.S) and KTEL Kifissos speaking to APE-MPE, 80 routes to Patras were already completed yesterday (19/02), compared to the 18 daily routes on a regular basis, while 180 routes are scheduled for today (20/02) and 120 for tomorrow. The first routes begin at 05:30 with frequency every five minutes.
According to the president of the Panhellenic Federation of KTEL, routes to destinations in Aetolia-Acarnania and the Peloponnese are also increased, mainly to Kalamata, while from KTEL Liosion the extra routes concern the destinations Karditsa, Trikala, Larissa and Volos. Traffic at both intercity bus stations is increased by approximately 20% compared to last year.
