The Federation’s announcement
The Panhellenic Federation of Entertainment and Performance announces a 24-hour strike in independent theater on Friday, February 20, 2026.
For 13 years, workers in the theatrical sector —artists, technicians, and other specialties— have been demanding the signing of Collective Labor Agreements with theater producers’ associations, without achieving agreement to date.
On December 27, 2025, a strike mobilization was announced in theatrical enterprises, aiming for even stronger pursuit of the obvious demand for signing CLAs, as despite months of negotiations, the employers’ side has not responded practically to substantial and good-faith dialogue, repeatedly presenting obstacles to the process.
The Federation reminds that striking is a constitutionally guaranteed right. Replacing strikers or hiring strikebreakers during the mobilization day is prohibited and in any case unacceptable. All actors, technicians, and workers in theatrical performances are called to participate dynamically in the mobilizations.
The strike affects workers of all specialties in independent theater (artists, technicians, production staff, audience reception, etc.), except security personnel, namely the guard, if present for facility security, the ticket cashier, as well as the theater’s promotion and communication department, for public information, who would have shifts according to the Work Program posted on the ERGANI system.
The Federation calls on all sector workers to participate massively in the February 20 strike, continuing the struggle for signing Collective Labor Agreements.
