Fratricide in Heraklion Crete: “The entire village is shocked,” says village president Michalis Anareptakis
“The village is shocked by the fratricide that occurred last night,” says local president Michalis Anareptakis, speaking to patris.gr. Mr. Anareptakis notes that all residents are “peace-loving and beloved” while “they still cannot believe what happened.” As the village president describes, the 67-year-old was not a permanent resident of the village.
“He had divorced and about a month ago came to the village to stay with his brother. He was a father of two children while the perpetrator was unmarried,” he emphasizes, noting that the local community had not realized that the two brothers had strained relations. “The house where they lived was isolated from other houses, so if there were arguments, people wouldn’t have known.”
