The country is entering one of the hottest two-day periods of this summer, with thermal stress becoming particularly intense. According to forecast data for the weather presented in his post by Theodoros Kolydas, today is the hottest day. Specifically, the maps posted by the meteorologist show that hot air masses are evident in the Eastern Aegean and Dodecanese and sporadic in the eastern mainland areas, depicted in brown color.
Regarding Wednesday (9/7), temperatures will drop slightly in the upper atmosphere, though high maximum values may appear locally again (due to descending westerly winds in the eastern mainland areas).
Indeed, tomorrow the mercury is expected to reach 40 to 41 degrees in the eastern mainland areas, with a possibility of locally reaching 42 degrees Celsius.
