As the disappearance of 16-year-old Lora increasingly captures German media attention with continuous reports in recent days, a series of testimonies are being carefully evaluated in an effort to trace the minor’s whereabouts. Lora’s parents have made no move to travel to Germany to search for their child. “I have already helped enough” was the response the father gave to a journalist. The 16-year-old’s parents told authorities they decided not to travel to Germany but instead notify friends and acquaintances in Hamburg.
Lora disappearance: New witness testimony of 16-year-old’s appearance at “Chinese restaurant”
A woman living in the German city of Göttingen, approximately two hours from Frankfurt where it’s confirmed Lora arrived on January 8, tells “Live News” that a few days later, she happened to see the missing 16-year-old up close, accompanied by a woman. “Her hair looked similar and she wasn’t wearing hats and dark clothes like you say. Her head was uncovered and she seemed to resemble the woman she was with, like an aunt. I can go and tell you exactly where I saw this.” In the days that followed, she saw the 16-year-old’s photographs and realized, as she says, that the minor she had seen was Lora.
“I saw the girl on January 14, Wednesday, at a Chinese restaurant. We were watching people, completely by chance this little girl passed by and at some point this girl with a woman, whose hair also looked a bit similar, the woman was a bit taller, they were talking and looking at each other, like they were aunt and niece, something like that, and they walked on.” Searches for the 16-year-old are also taking place in Hamburg, the city where Lora had previously lived with her parents.
Lora disappearance: Fellow passenger’s account from the airplane
The testimony of Lora’s fellow passenger on the airplane that took her to Frankfurt is also being carefully examined. As he told “Live News,” the 16-year-old had a written authorization from her mother, which she showed at “Venizelos” airport before boarding the plane. Speaking to MEGA and Nikos Evangelatos, he notes: “In front of me at the counter is the girl. Lora. I haven’t met her, I don’t know her, but I see she’s very anxious. There I notice there’s a young man they have eye contact with. Both with eyes and gestures. I think they know each other. I observed that the girl at the counter is told that you are 16 years old and cannot fly without consent. Always in English. And she looks at the young man and tells him. And he tells her ‘in your pocket you have’ he says ‘authorization’.”
