An unspeakable tragedy unfolded on Saturday evening (5/7) in Lefkada, when a 24-year-old woman collapsed before the eyes of her 26-year-old partner at the moment he proposed marriage.
A race against time began to transport her from the remote location to the hospital. The young woman is hospitalized with extensive brain hemorrhage and her health condition is critical.

The incident occurred at the church of Prophet Elias in Egklouvi, at an isolated spot on the island, where the couple had traveled for the surprise proposal. The young man, having planned a romantic proposal, got down on one knee and offered her the ring. Seconds later, the woman collapsed to the ground unconscious.
