The incident occurred today (31/01) early in the morning, when a man drove on the suburban railway tracks on Iera Odos where he parked his vehicle, resulting in traffic disruption on the route to Rentis. The 29-year-old car driver entered the train tracks, driving for 300 meters on them, resulting in obstruction of the railway network operation and suspension of train circulation for an extended period. Additionally, after an alcohol test, it was determined that he was under the influence of alcohol while he also did not possess the necessary documents for legal residence in the country. The arrested individual was brought before the competent prosecutor.

Police officers from the Athens Traffic Subdirectorate arrested, in the early morning hours today (31-1-2026) at the intersection of Konstantinoupoleos Avenue with Iera Odos in central Athens, a 29-year-old foreign national and filed charges against him for obstruction of transportation, dangerous driving and violation of immigration law. Specifically, in the early morning hours of 31-1-2026, the 29-year-old car driver entered train tracks, moving for 300 meters on them, resulting in obstruction of railway network operation and suspension of train circulation for an extended period.
