Nationwide strike on Tuesday February 3 – “Lack of necessary safety and health measures”
The Federation emphasizes the “lack of necessary safety and health measures” in workplaces, while attributing responsibility to the “dismantling of control mechanisms and the absence of inspections by competent state authorities,” which it characterizes as basic causes “including for the crime at the ‘BIOLANTA’ factory.”
At the same time, the POEVGTP emphasizes that it demands “that there be no cover-up, that the causes of the fire and explosion be revealed, and that all responsibilities for the crime be attributed.”
Concluding, in its announcement it states: “Our Federation expresses sincere condolences to the families and colleagues of the female workers and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured. We call on the Trade Unions and workers of the sector to organize and decisively prepare the Nationwide Strike response for Tuesday, February 3, decided by the Federation’s Administration, and to fight uncompromisingly in all workplaces for real safety measures and their implementation so that an end is put to the massacre, so that we return alive and healthy to our homes and families.”
