“It was almost certain that Ms. Karystianou would make a political move,” stated Christos Konstantinidis, founding member of the Tempe Association, speaking on Parapolitika 90.1 on the show “She and I,” with Thanasis Fouskidis and Stella Gantona. He emphasized that he left the Association in the first year, as it was impossible to serve the collective body together, and noted that his departure was approved by Ms. Karystianou without the Board of Directors’ consent, which is completely contrary to what she is demanding now. He pointed out that everything being heard lately is causing damage and misdirection, when everyone should be focused on the upcoming trials.

“Our relations with Ms. Karystianou have become distant, because we could not serve together a collective body that we created together. I requested my departure from the Association in the first year, which she approved without the Board of Directors, completely contrary to what she is asking for now. Also, the censure she launched against the Board, I think is unfounded because she has been leading the Association for one year as interim president and two years as permanent president, so it’s like she’s saying something about herself,” Mr. Konstantinidis said characteristically.
“The administration of justice that Maria Karystianou wants through parliament or some government that will be elected by the Greek parliament is something that has a very long time depth. The legislative power does not appoint judges, nor does the government essentially appoint prosecutors to do this job. Our problem is the impunity that exists in our country. We don’t disagree with Maria on this, the issue is how this will happen through the legislative power, the executive, or the judiciary? Right now we have judicial battles and any perjured prosecutor, investigator, or judge who doesn’t do their job, doesn’t uphold the constitution and laws must be reported because only institutionally can the result be lifted. And because both Maria and everyone knows very well that the leadership in the Supreme Court is appointed, they must be sued for all the interventions they receive from the executive power. This is called high treason because the executive power intervenes in the work of the judiciary. This happened many times in Tempe,” he explained.
Christos Konstantinidis: Everything being heard lately is causing damage
Regarding the Association’s financial data, Mr. Konstantinidis said: “Nothing should remain as suspicion, everything must be clear for both the Board of Directors and the Association, but also for Maria Karystianou, because both have made accusations. All these things the tax authority will bring to light, but the Association also has an obligation to announce all these to see who is ultimately right.”
Asked if everything being heard in recent days is harming the Tempe case, he replied: “They are causing damage, because we have been misdirected from the issue, we have trials ahead of us and we should be focused on these. There must be complete unity as much as possible from the relatives, the injured must be incorporated – it’s the umpteenth time I’m saying this – something that existed from the beginning in the statute was not pursued by those who were on the Board. These are all mistakes, we’re paying for them now. We must go united, as one body.”

When asked if there’s a possibility that someone else from the Association’s Board might become politicized, he replied: “These are two different things, someone cannot be on the Tempe Board and want a political party. You can’t be married and looking elsewhere! You leave your marriage and do whatever you want. This is both moral and legal!”
“Maria Karystianou must watch who she has by her side, because there are too many well-wishers who in the end will not do good to the work she has envisioned. The people should have already been announced and then come out and say… I draw Maria’s attention to be very careful of all those who are opportunists, not to say vultures and hyenas. People want the relatives united, together, in an embrace so they can come down again…,” he concluded.
