“I lost consciousness, I felt unwell” is what the driver of the second city bus reportedly told traffic police officers after crashing at high speed into another bus ahead of her at the A beach of Voula. In her statement to police, the driver claimed she didn’t realize anything “except that she felt everything going dark”.

Two of the injured have serious injuries while the rest are in better condition. Additionally, first aid was provided at the crash site to 22 people who did not need to be transported for hospitalization. The drivers are at the police station, have undergone alcohol testing, while the driver who caused the accident will be examined by doctors to determine her health condition.
The collision between the two buses was severe and the fact that there were no fatalities is a real miracle, according to dozens of passengers from both buses. These were mainly young children who were going swimming at nearby beaches. The traffic department conducting the investigation is expected to arrest the driver of the second city bus, while statements continue to be taken from passengers and other eyewitnesses.
EKAB update on Voula bus collision
The total number of injured reaches 47, according to an official EKAB update, from the traffic accident on Karamanlis Avenue. Of the injured, ten are children, while one woman is hospitalized in serious condition. Specifically, EKAB announces that its forces responded in less than five minutes to the incident, operating 11 ambulances, including three mobile medical units and two emergency response motorcycles.
A total of 31 injured were transported to Asklepieion Voulas hospital, six to “Gennimatas” and ten to “Aglaia Kyriakou” Children’s Hospital. One woman is considered a serious multiple trauma case.

The accident occurred at the height of A beach in Voula. Initial indications from Traffic police officers report that one bus crashed into the other at high speed, resulting in passenger injuries.
According to the mayor of Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni, Grigoris Konstantellos, who spoke to Parapolitika 90.1 and Thanasis Fouskidis and Stella Gantona, one bus was stopped at a station and the second crashed into it almost without braking. One of the scenarios being examined, according to the mayor, is that the driver of the second bus felt unwell.
According to Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis, there is no danger to the lives of the injured in the Voula accident. Specifically, speaking to SKAI, the minister mentioned over 30 injured, however none of them are in life-threatening condition.
Voula bus accident: Driver’s testimony – “I was at the station, had just started and heard the bang”
Visibly shocked, one of the drivers of the two OASA buses involved in the traffic accident in Voula on Friday afternoon with dozens of injured spoke to SKAI.
“I was at the station, had just started” the bus driver initially said.
As he added later “I started and heard the bang”.
When asked if the other bus had developed speed, he replied “how would I know, I was moving”.
