The dramatic incident that unfolded today (15/01) in Omonia ended successfully, with the man who was on the rooftop of the Urban Planning building threatening to commit suicide finally being safely removed with his consent, following negotiations with trained negotiators and the Special Emergency Response Unit (EMAK). Earlier today, police and fire services were alerted about an elderly man who was on the ledge of the Urban Planning building’s rooftop from the exterior side, threatening to end his life. Notably, it remained unknown how the man managed to reach the building’s rooftop.
