A serious traffic accident occurred in Chania in the early hours of Monday (12/1), when a motorcycle ridden by a 33-year-old man veered off course for unknown reasons, resulting in a violent crash into railings along the roadside embankment.

Chania: 33-year-old suffers traumatic brain injuries
The 33-year-old is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit at Chania Hospital after sustaining traumatic brain injuries following the traffic accident on the old national road between Chania and Kissamos. The 33-year-old, who suffered severe brain injuries and orthopedic trauma, was transported to Chania Hospital where he underwent surgery and is now hospitalized in the ICU. The exact causes of the accident are being investigated by the competent police authorities.
Woman struck by passing vehicle
Meanwhile, on the morning of the same day, a woman was struck by a passing vehicle while attempting to cross the main road in Kastelli Kissamos, at Eleftherios Venizelos Square. The injured woman was initially taken to the Kissamos Health Center and subsequently transferred to Chania Hospital for further treatment.
