Rapid developments are taking place in the case of the double murder at the camping site in Foinikounda, as on Wednesday afternoon, the two 22-year-olds, who have already been remanded in custody for the case that caused shock, are called to give supplementary testimonies, with the charges essentially changing.
At the center is 22-year-old Ch.T., who had surrendered voluntarily and claimed he had a secondary role. His claims, both about how he escaped and his movements after the crime, did not convince the authorities. Evidence that emerged from months of investigation, phone connections, video material and testimonies, led judicial authorities to upgrade the charges. Now, the 22-year-old is accused as the principal perpetrator, meaning that he was the one who fired shots at the camping reception on the night of October 5th. He continues to deny pulling the trigger.
Foinikounda: nephew remains in the frame
At the same time, the 33-year-old nephew of the camping owner remains in the frame of investigations, who is temporarily detained for moral complicity. His attitude, as well as searches he allegedly made on an artificial intelligence application regarding weapon fingerprints and ways to avoid arrest, strengthen the authorities’ suspicions. The supplementary testimonies are expected to shed light on the critical questions of the case.
