According to the company, the incident occurred following a partial detachment of a ceiling section in a restaurant located within the mall’s food court area. The partial ceiling collapse injured one visitor.

As stated in the announcement, the specific restaurant’s operation was immediately suspended, while the shopping mall has already proceeded to conduct all required inspections. Additionally, the company declares it is fully cooperating with the relevant authorities to investigate the causes that led to the incident.

The 45-year-old woman who was injured at a shopping mall in Thessaloniki after the ceiling collapse on Saturday afternoon, January 10, was transported by ambulance to Papanikolaou Hospital. The incident occurred at a restaurant inside the shopping mall, located in the eastern part of the city. Emergency responders rushed to the scene after being called to provide first aid. She is, however, out of danger.
A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the police regarding the incident, while no other injuries were reported, despite the presence of other people in the establishment at the time.
