Crete has been plunged into mourning following the death of 27-year-old Stelios, who lost his life in a horrific accident during a hunting trip. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM at the Holy Church of Archangel Michael in Ano Viannos, Heraklion, Crete, where relatives and friends will say their final goodbye to the unfortunate young man.

The loss of Stelios has shocked his family. Hours after the incident, his brother moved the entire nation with a heartbreaking message on social media: “And now my brother… Silence… You rushed to leave and we had left so much unfinished… I will say nothing except good meeting at the hunting grounds up there…”

The 27-year-old, a chef by profession and nature lover, was on Saturday 10/01 in the outskirts of the area between Chondros and Kastri together with his father and brother. According to available information, the tragedy occurred when the young man, while trying to aim, lost his balance and fell into a ravine over 30 meters deep.
His death appears to have been instantaneous. His father and brother, in a state of shock, alerted the authorities, with EMAK rescue team members rushing to the scene for the recovery operation.
Unfortunately, when rescuers reached the 27-year-old, they found it was already too late. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death, while the body of the unfortunate young man will be at the church earlier for public viewing.
