With the 16-year-old perpetrator’s testimony expected tomorrow, Friday, following his brutal beating to death of a 17-year-old in Serres, the arrested and now detained suspect speaks about the bloody incident he was involved in, presenting his own version of events. Speaking to Mega from custody, he claims: “If the child died by my hands, I first ask for forgiveness from the family. Though that’s not enough. And from the information I’ve received so far, they say something about stomach injuries. I never hit the child in the stomach. They say he was driving a car. I don’t know. That’s what they say. I don’t know what exactly happened. Anyway, I learned that at 1:30 AM the child was outside. At 1:30 AM I was at my house.”
“If he really died by my hands, I ask for a big apology from the family first and then from God. It’s not prison. It’s the guilt in my head. That if the child really died by my hands,” he adds. When asked if everything happened because of a girl, he replied: “Yes, that’s true. Now I didn’t want it to happen the way it did. But now the damage is done.” This is what he’s expected to claim before the investigating judge, with the charge against him being premeditated murder in a calm mental state.
Death of 17-year-old in Serres: Shocking forensic findings
The forensic examiner’s findings are shocking. They reveal the brutality of the attack, with the victim suffering not only cranial injuries but also organ ruptures.
The uncle of the child who so unjustly lost his life spoke to Live News and said: “He was a polite child. He was clean. He had principles from both his mother and father. The child didn’t seem like a street kid or someone who would provoke fights and such things. He wasn’t that kind of child, no. He was good at school and recently had aspirations, after finishing high school, to go to the merchant marine to study and build a career.”
The 17-year-old’s uncle believes that other people participated in the murderous attack on his nephew.
“It wasn’t one or two blows. And it wasn’t from one person. I heard they made 5 arrests. Now I don’t know how many people were beating him,” he said.
The 17-year-old returned home brutally beaten. He didn’t want to worry his parents, so he decided to go down to the apartment’s basement. As a result, he died a short time later.
The 16-year-old’s mother gave her own answers about the difficult family environment in which the minor grew up. She claimed that when social services visited their home, they found everything impeccable.
Smile of the Child: The urgent report
However, “Smile of the Child” had sent an urgent report to the prosecutor about the 16-year-old since 2022, denouncing a particularly problematic environment.
The 16-year-old’s mother gives her own response through the show to everything that has been said.
Perpetrator’s mother: Of course I’m responsible, I should have set boundaries earlier
“My children weren’t neglected. They sent social services for another reason. They spoke with the children separately, and left. My own sister made the complaint. We didn’t have electricity for two months in the summer, but they went to their grandparents. My husband left me debts when he died. The juvenile probation officer would come and see the children. They didn’t take them from me. Of course I’m responsible, I should have set boundaries earlier. The little one never showed any signs. I didn’t expect it. I had issues with drugs but stayed clean while raising the children. Both my children are supervised by a probation officer. My children never hit anyone, I raised them with freedom and I shouldn’t have,” claims the perpetrator’s mother.
However, a relative gives a different version to Live News: “They owed a lot of money for electricity but my son-in-law was stealing electricity. My mother-in-law and I would go to the house, clean, give them pocket money. I would take the clothes to my house to wash them. They didn’t have a washing machine. They had sold everything for their drug doses. That’s how they lived. When I found the electricity bill it was 2,500 euros. In March my son-in-law dies. I was talking to the companies. The children were at God’s mercy. He’s a very manipulative person.”
Over the past two years, the 16-year-old had displayed delinquent behavior that led to several arrests.
