Just hours before welcoming the new year, today, Wednesday (31/12) His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and all Greece Ieronymos blessed and cut the traditional Vasilopita at the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece.
The cake cutting ceremony took place in the Great Synodal Hall and was attended by the clergy and lay employees of the Holy Synod offices, who heard the blessings of His Beatitude and reciprocated their wishes.
